Bridle Leather
Bridle leather is vegetable tanned cowhide that has been finished with fats, waxes and tallow. It gets it’s name from what it was originally created for – a bridle – the straps on a horse’s head which connect to the reins. It is very strong and long lasting, but more importantly, it is very beautiful and naturally produced.
Essenjay Leather Supplies pride ourselves in using the finest quality English bridle leather in our collars and leads.
Softline Leather
Our SoftLine flat leather leads and collars undergo a totally different process in the tannery to that of Bridle Leather.
Bridle leather is firm, robust and with a finished surface that is shiny and needs oiling to keep it as supple as possible.
However, SoftLine is heavily oiled during its tannery process – and no it doesn’t come off on your hands or clothes or dogs coat – and never needs oiling.
The handle and the trigger hook end of our leads are plaited and the finished article looks like the bees knees!
Our SoftLine leather has the advantage of being easy to handle with the collars not cutting into the dogs coat
